Time to shred

Yeah... so all of those posts that mention food (like big, greasy 5 Guys burgers) have made me realize how much I need this:

Last week, my cousin Jen started Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred. Now, I’ve done Jillian workouts before. The woman is tough – but she is highly effective. I’ve been tossing around the idea of doing this particular program for awhile, and after hearing about Jen’s success – I’m sold. The girl lost three pounds in her first week. Go Jen!!

Anyway, my very own copy of 30 Day Shred will be delivered to my door Thursday (thanks to Amazon.com). And y’all – I’ve got to commit to this. Sitting behind a desk eight hours a day/five days a week is not doing nice things to my midsection. In fact, what it’s doing is downright hateful.

I’d love to post before and after pictures, or even do one of those neat little tracker things that shows my progress, but I’m just not that brave. I’m sure it would help make me more accountable, but it’s still not happening. Just trust me when I say I need this badly.

I will, however, let you know how it’s going on a periodic basis. Maybe weekly? I’ll probably wind up posting about what a major you-know-what Jillian is. Or how I think I’m dying. But either way, I’ll try to let you know if I’m Shredding properly.

On a completely unrelated note – have any of you ever watched Saving Grace? I don’t know what channel it comes on – but a co-worker recently recommended it, so I added it to my Netflix list. The fist two discs of Season One came Friday, and y’all… I’m hooked! It is faaaan-tastic. Basically it’s about Grace – a wild, but lovable woman on a fast track to Hell, who winds up getting a “last chance” angel named Earl, who tries to steer her down the path of righteousness. It’s hilarious. Earl is an unconventional, tobacco-chewing angel who literally fights Grace every step of the way. I love it.

Oh, and it’s June now. Were you aware? Because I wasn’t. When did that happen??

I'm with you 100%. I need to do it, I'm not brave enough to track my progress (or lack thereof) in a public forum, I'm hating what sitting on my butt has done to my midsection (and by 'midsection', I mean 'whole body')and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Saving Grace. It's one of only shows I actually seek out.

Jillian is a drill sergeant! She is relentless as a trainer, but apparently she gets results. Good luck! I know you'll do great. I need to get my butt moving too:)

Okay, I think you have inspired me to start this up again...I started this last week and I love it--it's really hard but really effective. Then I went on vacation and went to a wedding and ate my body weight in food. Good luck!

Oh come on Diane. If you post up the before after or the chart I will too. I'm trying to lose weight too, so what do you say, want to be ultra accountable?

Ok Ok, no problem, but we can't give up, bet I'll lose more in 30 days then you!

not really, but could be fun. :)

Dan's right, you've told the world and now are accountable.

That's why I blogged about my 100 Day Goal and someone wanted me to keep them informed.

So, now that I know the tape is on it's way, update us after 15 days and then 30 days. I really want to know if it works.

I am SO addicted to this! I'm on day 15 today. I suck at sticking with these things and am shocked I've made it this long LOL I took before pictures/weight/measurements to compare with end results. Yesterday I took pictures again to compare the half way mark and there were slight results. Mostly muscle lines that Ive never seen before LOL Im sure if I ate a little less Id see more. But I like food. A lot. Anyway, it's great, good luck!!

Thanks for stopping by Maugeritaville, Heather! Welcome aboard.

Good luck with your shred. I'm in the homestretch of my "Get Ready for the July Cruise" diet/workout program. It's tough, especially given my weakness for burgers.

Take care!

Chris

Work out for me, will ya'?

I just don't have it in me anymore.

If you swear it's the best thing ever...then MAYBE I will try a little something. No promises.

If the Shredding works for you... I'll be game! (I'm not huge into "losing weight," but seriously, some of the pictures taken of me over the weekend actually had me asking myself when I was due. Pot belly anyone? Ew...

I think the universe is trying to tell me something. I have heard so much about this Shred video it's not even funny. I'm choosing to plug my ears for now. Good luck! Maybe you'll motiviate me!

Posting about your goal is accountability enough! I hope to commence walking/running soon myself, hope it works.
And yes! Scary...we are mid year already, I just dressed up for new Years eve the other night!

Good Luck. From what I've seen, the shred seems to be either loved or hated by those who try it.

I've been looking at fitness and weight loss programs as well. I really want to get more toned. I've considered P90X but I think it might kick my butt. Good luck with Jillian!

I'll make you a deal. If you do the Shred thing for 30 days and it works for you, I will do it too. Promise.

And is Saving Grace the one with Holly Hunter?

I've heard so many good things about the 30 day shred, I look forward to hearing your progress. And your cousin Jen lost 3lbs in one week! That is awesome, hopefully I'll get that next week.

Hmmm, just decided to do some "Sredding" of my own. But not with Jillian... I want to lose about 18 pounds. Plan write down what I eat... and ride my bike up the hill till' I can do it with ease. :D:D:D (Well see how we go... I wish I could join a gym and use the machinery for some toning... but that's not happeing for now).

and the accountability thing... I guess I will have to post it on my blog as well. I have a "before" photo, but I too am not that brave about it.
