Weekly writing assignment from Mama Kat: Time for a trip? Where are you headed this summer? Or where would you go if you COULD?
Unfortunately, I don’t have any exciting summer trips planned out (as of yet.)
But that doesn’t stop a girl from dreaming.
In fact, there are several places I’m itching to visit.
Such as:
Ah, yes. Fiji. I figured I should dream big. After all, I’m just over an hour from Florida’s best beaches. If I’m going to dream of a beach vacation, shouldn’t it be to somewhere I don’t see on a regular basis? Yes. I think so. I can almost feel the warm, Fijian sun shining on my beautifully bronzed body (this is a dream…remember?) I can feel the glorious sand between my toes and see all of the little fishies swimming around in the crystal clear water. I hear the palm leaves overhead rustle as a tropical breeze rolls off the cresting waves. I feel the condensation trickle down my ice cold bottle of Corona and hear island music lazily drifting up the beach from a local bar.
*sigh*
If only.
You know, I actually had more destinations in mind, but now I seem fixated on this particular daydream. I can’t stop imagining the calming sound of waves as they break upon the sand. So on that note, I’m retreating to my island fantasy – where, if only for a moment, I’m sitting by the ocean with a cold drink in my hand and a smile on my face.

awww that sounds and looks NIIIIICE....I'll se ya there!!!!!
Can I tag along? Sounds so good!
You may as well dream big!
You'll never get there if you don't plan it.
Plan it. Even if it's 20 years sown the line. GEt you some brochures and pics online, and begin your dream fulfillment.
I'm going to Ireland one day.
ALready have all the info on it.
I have no idea how to make it work, but I do believe someday I'll be there!
That is a very nice dream! My husband is from there, he lived on the hills of Fiji pretty far from the beach, but lived near the rainforest and waterfalls.
And I missed out going because I was really sick, so my husband and son left without me. Tickets were non refundable, so they had to go, but I still kick myself for allowing myself to get the flu!
is there room for one more....i neeeeed to go here..now!!!
that sounds like a awesome trip!!
Thanks for bring me along for the Fiji trip virtually! I can use those warm soothing breezes :) Lovely dream!
Warm sunny exotic sun and sand sounds yummy to me. I will just have to do with warm not so exotic sand this summer in florida
Looks nice, but why is the only thing I can think of is how much sunscreen I'd need not to get burned...
Fiji sounds really nice! I'm looking out my office window and it's overcast and not too enticing. I would love to be somewhere beautiful with water nearby and a really cold glass of chardonnay in my bikini wearing 120 pound weighing, rich hands (hey I can dream too right?)
Ah, that sounds so peaceful. Pretty much just like a Corona commercial, actually, haha.
You know, there are a million places I'd love to go right now, too, but there's something about the sound of the water and the feel of the sun (soak up that Vitamin D!) that is almost addictive. :-) Fiji's an excellent dream destination.
I totally wish i was on some sandy beach right now!
Never give up on your dreams and DREAM BIG!
I so want to spend a few careless days on some secluded beach and leave my cares far behind!
Have a great day!
Oh, that sounds incredible! I think you need to make that happen someday soon.
Visiting from Mama Kat's!
Oh my gosh, Fiji (and/or Tahiti) were my #1 choices for my honeymoon!! But we didn't have that much time for flights, and wound up in St. Thomas. I would gladly, happily take either right now.
I like your Workshop post!
This is what imagine when I picture my dream vacation ... that is lovely photo! I want to be there!
