- I’ve been staying busy as best as possible. While I don’t have any terribly exciting stories to share, I have made a wonderful friend over the past couple of months that I’m sure I’ll write about soon. I’ve become more convinced than ever that some people come into your life at precisely the right moment in time. This is definitely once of those instances.
- My focus and attention problems are getting worse. I’m having a terrible time concentrating on tasks and staying on top of projects lately. It’s one of the most frustrating feelings I’ve ever experienced — knowing exactly what needs to be done but being completely incapable of focusing long enough to accomplish it all. I make to-do lists like you would not believe, then feel extreme anxiety when I fail to cross items off. I’ve been thinking pretty seriously about talking to my doctor about it. I don’t know if my problem warrants medication, but I’m to the point where I feel like it’s worth looking into. My job requires concentration and I can’t afford to keep dragging my feet around here. People can only be so understanding. Speaking of doctors, I missed two days of work last week (like I needed to be any more behind) because I was out sick with bronchitis. Fun stuff.
- I’ve been feeling particularly cold-hearted lately and I hate it. Kevin and I have been broken up for two months now, and I’ve pretty much cut all contact with him. I hear that’s what you’re supposed to do when you break up, but a part of me is having a hard time. I feel like we were friends for so long, so it’s a shame we can’t still talk. But the majority of me feels like it’s entirely too hard to try to be friends right now. It’s not that I don’t care how he’s doing – it’s just that I need time to heal and move on. And aside from the occasional text, he’s respected that. I sincerely wish him nothing but the best in life. I’m just not ready to be best friends.
- On a positive note, it’s FINALLY football season. For me, there’s nothing quite like a Saturday filled with the excitement of college football. Can I get a ROLL TIDE?!
- And more good news: Maverick is doing fantastic. His neck is healing up quite nicely and I honestly could not ask for a better dog. He is sweet, gentle-natured and loyal beyond belief. He and Toby have become the best of friends and I’m so glad he’s become such a perfect part of our household.
Well, I guess that’s about it for now. I plan on catching up on all of your blogs this weekend. I honestly have not even signed into blogger in over a week – so I’m a bit behind…
Happy Friday!!

God bless Heather and have a wonderful weekend!
Welcome back! Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well... I've missed you 'round here!!
You know what I said before about staying friends... I think you can do it eventually... but it's too hard at first. You're going to be just fine, darlin'... just take your time!! XOXO
Glad that you're feeling better and Maverick and Toby enjoy hanging out together. I'm happy that you made a good friend at this tough time in you life. You'll get through it. Enjoy all the football :)
GO DAWGS! Also, because UGA and Alabama do not play each other this year (which I find odd), I can say Roll Tide too =]
Hey hey, welcome back!! Wow it sounds like you definitely have a lot on your plate right now. I'm so sorry to hear about your break-up it sounds like that's affecting you and I hope things just get better. Maybe with this new friend you have you can just create that bond and friendship that can comfort you through these times. Thank goodness for FOOTBALL SEASON!! I think everyone needs to have a couple of football parties to get their minds off certain things :) I'm also glad to hear that your pup is better from his neck..poor puppy! ;)
Take care of yourself hun!
Heather! I love your new dog! He's such a lucky pup for you to have found him!
Heather...good to hear from you! I have a close friend who used to tell everyone he was from L.A....Lower Alabama! He had tow words in his vocabulary...ROLL TIDE! You guys down there are nuts when it comes to football! Anyway I shouldn't talk...here in Indiana...it is basketball addicts. I guess we all have our faults! Have a great weekend. Tell Maverick I said hi!
Dan
I hope you sort out your concentration/anxiety issue. I can imagine how that must be impacting on you.
As for staying friends with the ex, I'm not friends with a single one of mine and have no contact with any of them. I would recommend it as a course of action.
As for Maverick..... that warrants a :) thingy.
It's so good to see you writing again! I'm happy that you are doing better! I have had the same problem with lack of concentration...ugh...it's so frustrating!
As for the comment about your ex, I was only able to be on speaking terms a while after we broke up. It took alot of time but being mad/angry/spiteful wasn't bothering anyone except me...it made me a better person by moving on!! Some times things have to fall out of place for better things to fall into place...;) Have a great weekend!!!
I'm glad you haven't dropped off the face of the planet! I'm sure you'll work through your attention problems, with or without medication. You've had a LOT on your plate lately, remember that and don't get too down on yourself!
Hooooraaaaay for Maverick! And for moving on! And FOOTBALL!!!
I get like that sometimes too. Maybe it's anxiety but make sure you really look into any medication if that's what they prescribe.
I think it's good to get some distance from Kevin if you can. I look forward to hearing about your new friend.
I totally agree with you about certain people coming to your life when you just need it. Mine is reconnecting with my childhood best friend, we took up from where we left off which was the day that we graduate from high school...20 years ago!
And I'm excited about football too, since my son is playing! Can't wait for him to play college football!
Have a great weekend!
What??? No, Go Trojans!?
Well, I'll be accommodating and give you a Roll Tide!
Even better, how about a Skol Vikings!!!
Love, Mr. Negativity
ROLL TIDE!!!
From Meridian, MS
I'm happy for your new friend ... the universe does look out for you!
And I think it is best to sever all contact right off a break up. It is just too confusing otherwise.
And I have no idea what Rolltide means but ... um, go.
Hi Heather! Nice to hear from you again.
I guess I know what u mean about your feelings after the break up...
You will move on and hopefully won't have any resentments - still you two could be friends and even enjoy it.
Take care!
Good to hear from you! A cold heart is better than a heart of stone~
